Vancouver accounting services

Bookkeeping for Vancouver businesses.

Keep the records current so your year-end starts from numbers you can use. DSJM provides monthly or quarterly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online or Xero for incorporated owner-managed businesses, with David Moon, CPA, as your direct contact.

Ongoing bookkeeping

Agree how the books will stay current.

The starting conversation covers your transaction volume, accounts, software and the work you already handle. The written scope sets the bookkeeping frequency and who provides the information needed to complete it.

  • Record and categorise business activity using the available supporting records.
  • Reconcile bank, credit card and other agreed accounts.
  • Resolve missing information with you rather than guessing.
  • Coordinate the records with GST/PST filings and the year-end work.

If you already have a bookkeeper, you can keep that arrangement and engage DSJM for corporate tax or financial statements.

Catch-up work

Behind on the books? Start there.

An unreconciled backlog needs a different scope from routine monthly work. Tell David the last completed period, any filing deadlines and whether records are missing. The initial cleanup is quoted separately.

When you need more

Routine bookkeeping and decision support have different scopes.

Bookkeeping creates a reliable record of what happened. If you also need a rolling cash forecast, reporting by job or help interpreting margins, discuss fractional CFO support. Additional management reporting is agreed separately.

For a business buying materials, paying subcontractors or running a crew, see accounting for trades.

Pricing

Published starting fees.

Bookkeeping starts at CAD $250 per month, with GST and PST filing included in the regular service. Transaction volume and the number of accounts affect the quote. Hourly work is CAD $35 where appropriate. Cleanup, payroll and additional advisory work are separate.

See the full pricing and scope. The fee and responsibilities are agreed in writing before work starts.

Common questions

Before you book.

Do you use QuickBooks Online or Xero?

Yes. Tell David which system you use and whether it is already set up. Any migration or setup work needs to be included in the agreed scope.

Is payroll included in bookkeeping?

Payroll is separately priced. The payroll starting fee and service description are on the pricing page.

Do you need access to my accounts before the first call?

No. Start by describing the business and records. David will explain what is needed and how to provide it. Keep account credentials and tax documents out of the website enquiry form.

Do I need to be in Vancouver?

DSJM is based in Vancouver and serves Greater Vancouver, with remote support across Canada. Explain where the business operates and any provincial filing needs on the first call.
